Zachary Cale

Zachary Cale is a songwriter originally hailing from the small town of Enon, Louisiana. His music ranges from lyrical folk balladry and American primitive inspired guitar instrumentals to experiments in popular song forms. He has toured extensively throughout the U.S. and in Europe, often performing alone with only an acoustic guitar, but has been known to perform with a revolving cast of musicians whom he calls The Rain Band. He has been likened to classic songwriters of the past such as Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, Neil Young, Alex Chilton, Ray Davies, and Leonard Cohen, musicians who in their unwavering hold on the muse transcend genre classification while maintaining that rare ability to tell stories of their own time.

AHE-01 ILLUMINATIONS - See Saw - LP: $14 / CDR: $6
The debut album by Illuminations is the inaugural offering from All Hands Electric. Featuring the vocals and guitar of Zachary Cale and backed by long time friends Kris Benedict, Ryan Johnson and Phil Glauberzon See-Saw falls into what Gram Parsons called “cosmic American music”. Accordingly, it lies somewhere between the country-tinged soul of Big Star and the punk spirit of The Wipers. It was recorded and produced by the band in their basement on an 8 track reel-to-reel machine. The end result is an enigmatic album that is both familiar and foreign; one that wears the suit of American rock & roll, but broadcasts anthems from another universe.
