AHE-19 WOODSY PRIDE - Live at The All Hands House - LP: $13
Woodsy Pride's Live at the All Hands House is the first in a series of limited edition LP's recorded in front of a live audience at our headquarters in Brooklyn, New York. Woodsy Pride continue to uphold a minimalist yet unique approach to song-craft. A trio of magnitude, Uriah Theriault weaves open-tuned guitar passages with John Studer's circular and feather light drum style, while in the center stands Bill Augustus like a master of a ceremony who leads the band with his elegant phrasing and rich vibrato through poetic songs of hope and hardship. From the opening lines of the world weary "All for My Love", to the closing hymn "Mother of God" Woodsy Pride delivers an accomplished set, narrating stories of their own time.

AHE-12 WOODSY PRIDE - s/t - 12" EP: $12
Woodsy Pride is one of those bands that speak telepathically, every turn and phrase is dictated by live feel. Steeped in the Southern Gothic tradition, the trio of Uriah Theriault, Bill Augustus and John Studer compose songs that are cut from the same cloth as western archetypes such as Neil Young, John Fogerty and Will Oldham; songwriters who are known for testing the boundaries of traditional song forms in order to reveal hymns of their own design. Their self-titled EP displays an angular autumnal sound that weaves intricate tales of love and woe over elegantly composed guitar phrases. It's a beautifully arranged record full of earthen tones and dark hues that reflect the long shadows cast on American music.

Woodsy Pride

Originally hailing from the Boston area, Woodsy Pride is a trio of friends that have been playing music in some form or another for the past 10 years. After a long hiatus the three members including singer Bill Augustus, guitarist Uriah Theriault, and drummer John Studer reconvened in Redhook, Brooklyn. Since their reformation in 2008 Woodsy Pride have been quietly assembling a canon of songs steeped in the southern gothic tradition. Together they play a hybridized form of roots music that features solemn yet rambling lyrics over western-tinged guitar passages and driving rhythms. Their debut EP is a beautifully arranged batch of songs that walks the line between light and dark American song forms.
